Ignite Your Power, Open Up Your Life

"The greatest source of natural power we have available to us is being ourselves. Our lives are transformed when we bring that organic way of self-expression to all of our relationships and experiences. Most of us already know that the work yoga means "union," and to me the biggest union is the alignment between who we are at our core and how we show up in the world. When we drop the masks and live from our authenticity, we ignite our power and our whole life opens up." - Baron Baptiste (Being of Power)

Life transformation - I have so many feelings about this. If the greatest source of power we have available to us is being ourselves, why can't we all live authentically? I pride myself in being authentic. I look back on times in my early 20's where I wasn't sure who I was, what I was doing or where I was going in life. The moment I began taking group yoga classes I knew my life was forever changed. Other than theatre, I had never committed myself to something so much bigger than myself. It's because of this practice I am who I am today. Being a part of this community has helped me understand myself and be very much true to who I am.

I've been teaching yoga for over ten years. I've had the pleasure of working with and learning from some pretty amazing teachers. They have kindly given me the tools to dig down deep inside myself, with little fear, shed layers upon layers of things and people in my life that are no longer serving me and through it, gain access to new self discover and possibility. Living with integrity is yet another layer that comes to the surface when we are ourselves. We begin live honest, healthy and full lives and welcome new relationships, and new opportunities.

A couple months ago I decided to dive head first into a 300HR Yoga Teacher Training. It couldn't have come at a better time. I had felt very stuck over the last 6-8 months with almost every area of my life. I know we all go through stuff, and I'm grateful I have a place to be able to work through it. I have learned so much about myself and am feeling myself transform, day by day. I'm learning that transformation occurs by shifting how I listen, how I take in every moment and pause before speaking or responding in any way. I've been able to create more space in my life in order to find more clarity to be able to see clearly. As Baron says, "The beautiful thing here is that by transforming the way you relate to life, circumstances around you will ultimately shift as well." Anything I want to give I need to embody. I've realized that anything that doesn't work for me in my life needs to be let go of. If I obsess over things that are out of my control I waste energy and when energy is wasted it depletes not just one part of me but many. I know I don't want to live my life like that.

I want to enjoy life and to freely express myself and to be seen as the kind, compassionate, loving, loyal, passionate, authentic and good person I know I am. We can judge people based on one encounter or situation and completely miss out on getting to know who they really are at their core. Because of the work I've been doing myself, I've really been able to change how I live my life in the best way possible. Life's too short not to be happy, whole and complete. I am being of something, not becoming something. I am being of strength, love, power, creation, leadership and growth and I am giving up that I am not good enough, that I am not deserving, that I am not sure. I am shifting into a new being, something greater than myself and I can't wait to continue sharing it with the world. No more doubting - I will speak up, speak my truth through intentional communication. Who I am in my core and how I show up in the world are becoming more aligned everyday. This work will transform every aspect of your life and I can't recommend it more.
