SCHOOL OF YOGA
The Carrie Treister School of Yoga 200-hour yoga teacher training provides a solid foundation to teach yoga and deepen one’s own personal practice. This training was developed and designed by our owner, Carrie Treister and through this training, our students gain a thorough foundation to begin teaching yoga. With a strong component in anatomy and alignment alongside the traditional philosophy and holistic health, these teachers are trained to deliver a strong well-rounded group class interweaving the physical and philosophical components of the practice. This foundation will serve as a powerful base from which to teach and guide your students through a practice that educates, inspires and transforms lives.
We are proud to offer this exceptional Yoga Alliance certified yoga teacher training program and honored to host students who join us from all over the US. We've been leaders in the community, teaching since 2008 and leading trainings since 2012. The structure of our 200-hour yoga teacher training allows for greater flexibility by offering online and accessible content, while providing a powerful community experience during our retreats. Our program encourages a strong creative focus to unlock each student’s individual potential and unique voice. Students begin teaching within the first two days.
This 200-hour yoga teacher training is appropriate for the serious student who would like to start teaching yoga, as well as the student who would like to deepen their own knowledge & personal practice.
You will come away with a strong foundation in the technical, inspirational and business side of yoga that combine together to create an exceptional yoga teacher.
We offer a flexible 200-hour yoga teacher training that includes 5 weekend intensives with online course work in between.
During the first and second weekend intensives, mornings begin with a 1hr practice and our days are filled with intensive study delving into anatomy, alignment and adjustments of the yoga postures – laying the foundation for your teaching. Afternoons include study of some of the philosophical and other relevant topics and end with gratitude and self-reflection.
On the 3rd weekend intensive, we will bring all the elements of teaching yoga together with classes on sequencing and refining your teaching and plenty of practice teaching with valuable feedback to hone your skills as a teacher. We will also discuss energetic anatomy and the chakra system, including experiential learning.
The 4th and 5th weekend intensives will cover how to use props, how to structure and build yoga workshops and intensives effectively and teach your own class. We will cover the business of yoga, including marketing yourself and social media.
Each intensive weekend we will welcome guest faculty to lead mini workshops on different topics, including, Pranayama, Wellness 101™ - Holistic Well-Being, Anatomy Applied To Yoga, Chakras, Yin & Restorative Yoga, Yoga Nidra, Business of Yoga and more.
*Plan to attend 3-4 classes per week and about 1 hour a week of homework.
